A July about Community
We had a great time in July. Many times.
We showed up for each other in parking lots and parks, around campfires and disc golf courses, over ice cream and card games. We watched the Brewers. We made s’mores. We did what this community does best. We showed up.
Here’s a look back at what happened:
Pizza Party and Brewers (Beloit Community Center)
Pizza, soda, and a lot of Brewers energy. We gathered in Beloit to watch our team take on the Cardinals, and honestly, the company was better than the game. Thanks to Morgan and Anthony for making it happen.

July Campfires are Community (Beloit Community Center)
There’s something about a fire that makes it easier to be honest. We met outdoors at Horace White Park for fellowship, s’mores, and an AA meeting under the open sky. A night we won’t forget.

July Cookouts are also Community (Baraboo Community Center)
Hamburgers, brats, and disc golf at Mark Reitz Memorial Course. No experience required — just good vibes and a willingness to try. Thanks to Tiffany for organizing
.

Fellowship is Fun (Baraboo Community Center)
Board games, card games, snacks, and a whole lot of laughter at the Community Center. Simple, fun, and exactly what summer afternoons are for.

We All Scream for Ice Cream (Waukesha Community Center)
Build your own sundae and hang out. That’s it. That’s the whole plan. And we really hope to do it again. Thanks to Peter V for pulling it together.

This is what our recovery community looks like. Not just meetings and milestones, but cookouts and campfires and showing up for the people around you.
August is already looking good. For all upcoming events, just go to our Community Page. And as always, reach out if you need us by filling out this form, or calling 844-WIS-HOPE. SAMHSA’s overview of peer support services is also worth a read.
